Description
Delicious and versatile Hobo Dinner Foil Packets perfect for camping or busy weeknights, packed with meat and veggies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (or any meat of your choice)
- 4 medium potatoes, cut into cubes
- 2 cups of mixed vegetables (like carrots, corn, and green beans)
- 1 onion, sliced
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional seasonings (like garlic powder, paprika, or Italian herbs)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare: If you’re cooking on a campfire, get your fire going! If you’re using the oven, preheat it to 400°F (204°C).
- Cut the foil: Grab a piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil and cut it into large squares—about 12 inches should do the trick. You’ll need one for each serving.
- Layer it up: Place a handful of potatoes in the center of each foil square, followed by a scoop of ground beef, mixed vegetables, and onions. Drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle salt, pepper, and any other seasonings on top.
- Seal the packets: Fold the foil over the ingredients to create a sealed packet. Make sure it’s airtight to prevent any delicious juices from escaping.
- Cook to perfection: Place the foil packets on the grill or in the oven, and let them cook for about 25-30 minutes. If you’re using a campfire, place them on hot coals, flipping occasionally.
- Serve: Once they’re done, carefully open the packets (watch out for the steam!) and dig in.
