Description
A flavorful blend of tender steak strips and a creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce, perfect for elevating weeknight dinners or impressing guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (divided)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the steak by seasoning it with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning and letting it rest for 10 minutes.
- Cook the fettuccine in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Sear the steak in a skillet with olive oil for 1-2 minutes per side until medium-rare, then transfer to a plate to rest.
- Create the flavor base by sautéing the onions in the same skillet, then adding garlic and bell peppers until softened.
- Make the Cajun Alfredo sauce by adding butter and the remaining Cajun seasoning to the vegetables, then incorporating the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy.
- Combine the steak and pasta with the sauce, adjusting with reserved pasta water if needed, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Additionally, chicken or shrimp can replace the steak for different protein options.
