Ingredients

  • 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (divided)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the steak by seasoning it with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning and letting it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the fettuccine in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  3. Sear the steak in a skillet with olive oil for 1-2 minutes per side until medium-rare, then transfer to a plate to rest.
  4. Create the flavor base by sautéing the onions in the same skillet, then adding garlic and bell peppers until softened.
  5. Make the Cajun Alfredo sauce by adding butter and the remaining Cajun seasoning to the vegetables, then incorporating the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy.
  6. Combine the steak and pasta with the sauce, adjusting with reserved pasta water if needed, and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Additionally, chicken or shrimp can replace the steak for different protein options.
