Description
A quick and comforting meal combining tender chicken, vibrant broccoli, and egg noodles in a creamy cheese sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound chicken breast, diced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream or milk
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Start by boiling a pot of salted water. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Once done, drain and set aside.
- Sauté the chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken and season it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until the chicken is golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add broccoli: Toss in the broccoli florets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they’re tender but still vibrant.
- Make it creamy: Lower the heat, then add the heavy cream (or milk) and half of the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until everything is evenly coated.
- Combine: Add the drained noodles to the skillet and mix everything together until it’s well combined.
- Melt the cheese: Top with the remaining cheese and cover the skillet for a few minutes to allow the cheese to melt beautifully.
- Serve: Once melted, give it a gentle stir and serve hot.
