Description
Indulge in these creamy, savory Alfredo meatballs that blend Italian-American traditions into one irresistible dish, perfect for a family dinner or a gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs (Italian-seasoned or plain)
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking
- For the Alfredo Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix gently until just combined. Chill for 10 minutes.
- Form mixture into 1½-inch balls to get approximately 16-20 meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches until browned and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, sauté until fragrant. Pour in cream and simmer gently. Whisk in Parmesan until smooth, season with salt and pepper.
- Return meatballs to the skillet, gently coating them in the Alfredo sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Notes
For lighter options, swap ground beef for turkey or chicken, and use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
