Description

This Surf and Turf Skewers recipe combines juicy steak and succulent shrimp drizzled with vibrant chimichurri sauce for an easy yet delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chimichurri: In a bowl, whisk together the parsley, garlic, red pepper flakes, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Marinate the Shrimp and Steak: In separate bowls, combine the shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. For the steak, toss it with smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let them marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Skewering Time: Alternately thread the shrimp and steak onto skewers, starting and ending with a shrimp.
  4. Grill or Sear: Preheat the grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp turns pink and the steak reaches desired doneness.
  5. Drizzle with Chimichurri: Once done, drizzle the chimichurri sauce generously over the skewers.

Notes

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes beforehand to prevent burning.
