Description

A flavorful twist on a classic meatloaf, this dish features a tangy blend of ground beef and French onion soup, topped with melted Swiss cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup French onion soup (canned or homemade)
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, French onion soup, bread crumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 45 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the grated Swiss cheese on top and return to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Substitute Swiss cheese with cheddar or provolone if needed.
