Description

A decadent dessert that combines rich chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and velvety cheesecake, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water until well combined; the batter will be thin.
  5. Pour the batter equally into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check with a toothpick – it should come out clean!
  6. Once baked, let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. Lower the oven temperature to 325°F (162°C) for the cheesecake layer.
  8. In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar, followed by the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.
  9. Pour the cheesecake mixture into a greased 9-inch cake pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the center only slightly jiggles. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and chill in the fridge.
  10. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and creamy peanut butter until well combined.
  11. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream. Continue mixing until you reach your desired consistency – smooth and spreadable!
  12. Once the chocolate cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate.
  13. Spread the cheesecake layer on top, then add the second chocolate cake layer.
  14. Frost the top and sides with your delicious peanut butter frosting. Smooth it out as best as you can.
  15. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra touch, consider adding chocolate chips to the cake batter or crushed peanuts on top of the frosting.
